Navy veteran, chief revenue officer, and lifelong Husker — building relationships, leading teams, and never missing a Nebraska kickoff.
I'm Jay Stockwell — a retired U.S. Navy Commander, seasoned revenue executive, University of Nebraska alumnus, and unapologetic Husker football fanatic. With roots in Hartington, Nebraska and a home in Edina, Minnesota, I've spent my career bridging the gap between bold ideas and measurable results.
After eight years of active duty tracking Soviet submarines in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean, I transitioned to the corporate world — co-founding Nielsen Catalina Solutions, steering BuzzMetrics to a successful acquisition by The Nielsen Company, and ultimately building and leading revenue organizations responsible for hundreds of millions in sales. Commander Stockwell retired after 24 years across five P-3 Squadrons (Active and Reserve) and shore duty at the United States Naval Academy teaching Celestial Navigation in the Seamanship and Navigation Department.
I hold a BS in Finance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and an MBA in Marketing from The George Washington University School of Business. I'm a donor to Husker Athletics, the NU Foundation, and the College of Business and proud co-host of Sunday Morning Quarterback: Nebraska Edition — my way of giving back to the community I love.
Jay served a distinguished 24-year career in the United States Navy — 8 years on active duty and 16 years in the Naval Reserve — retiring at the rank of Commander in 2010.
During active duty, he and his crew conducted anti-submarine warfare operations, tracking Soviet submarines in the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. In the reserves Commander Stockwell and his crews conducted counter narcotics operations in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of America. His service required precision, leadership under pressure, and an unwavering commitment to mission and team — qualities that have defined every chapter of his life since.
